The Beauty of Hardboard Tic-Tac-Toe
Hardboard doesn’t have much of a reputation but I think it’s very under-appreciated. Hardboard is that stuff found at the bottom of a drawer. Or the backing on a cheap shelf. One of the trade names is Masonite. When it comes in thicker sizes it’s called MDF (medium density fiberboard). When it comes in thinner sizes such as 1/4″ or 1/8″, then it’s referred to as hardboard.
I’ve got two shades of hardboard on hand so I decided to try my hand at making another tic-tac-toe game (I also made checkers).
I made up the design in a few minutes in Sketchup and then sliced up the pieces on my CNC router.
I found this pretty satisfying and I think I will attempt checkers next. Who knows where this could lead.. perhaps chess..
I’ll post the files if anybody requests them.
