Printmaking Business Cards

I carved up a 12″x12″ linoleum from Wallacks and up-cycled some album covers from the clock and jewelry project.

This is basically a 12″ square stamp. I roll ink onto it then press a cardboard record cover onto the ink.

They came out nice, this test run uses some Speedball ink and a bunch of old acrylic paint that’s been lying around forever. I’m very happy with the results and think this might be my main business card for a while.

As you can see I used a laser to carve the linoleum. Also my Marilyn one was missing some text initially. As you can see in the pictures I was able to correct that by carving them on the CNC machine.

For extra excitement the QR code one reads so I may make another block with more of those. We’ll see how popular they are.

Album Covers

People find the content of the album covers interesting too. Here’s an example where a bunch of people who just received my cards figured out you can piece them back together.

Woodblock Prints

Leading up to this I made some wooden stamps so I made a business card stamp from various woods.

This is india ink and is hand pressed. The colored ones are acrylic water based ink.

I see a lot of potential here.

I took it a step further and made a triple stamp. I think I’ve convinced myself it is worth making a 15up stamp.
